The Oral/Enteral Syringe overcomes the design flaws of other oral and enteral syringes that have a modified luer-slip tip or a part-thread FLL1 tip, by providing a secure fully-locking tip for the safe delivery of enteral feeds and medication, and which is impossible to connect to IV access devices. NOTE: This safety system has now been updated by agreement of an International committee, resulting in a new tip and connection design standared ISO 80369 (ENFit), that will be introduced from mid-2016. The Oral/Enteral Syringe has a slim low-friction 0-ring seal, instead of a bulky end-piston seal, ensuring a safe, smooth, and accurate operation for either single use in hospital or multiple use at home, minimising contamination of the syringe contents by silicone lubricants and particulatesThe tip is compatible with most enteral feed tubes and devices. A stepped catheter tip design is also available for irrigation and other applications.
