The Mangar Elk is a highly portable, battery or mains powered emergency lifting cushion that lifts a fallen person simply and safely minimising moving, handling and transfer risks. The Elk is used and recommended by many UK NHS Ambulance Trusts as key equipment to lift a fallen person. Operated by a mains powered low air pressure using the new Airflo 24 power source. The new Airflo 24 by Mangar is a low pressure air compressor, which has been designed to inflate the Mangar Camel and ELK lifting equipment through a 4-Way hand control. The 4-Way hand control is supplied with the Camel and ELK.Up to 4 times more powerful than the Airflo Plus. More efficient, durable battery technology (NiMH) 1 x 24V. Nearly 30% lighter than the current Airflo – 4.1kg / 9lbs. Vastly improved ergonomically with redesigned grab handle and balanced carry.

Yes. This lift with the Mangar Elk is performed in conjunction with a scoop or transfer board. Our Camel and Eagle lifting cushions can lift someone from a lying or sitting position.

The lifting cushions should be cleaned when inflated. Sponge clean with a detergent solution and dry thoroughly before storing in a dry place. The lifting cushions are ultrasonically welded so there is no stitching or gaps when germs can collect. To disinfect use a disinfecting solution or alcohol impregnated wipe.

We recommend servicing your lifting cushion every 12 months.

The speed the lifting cushions inflate will depend on the weight of the person being lifted, but generally it will take less than three minutes. The lifting cushions can deflate in less than a minute.
