The Pitchoune Kalin has been developed specifically as a children’s care bed rather than adapting a conventional adult profiling bed. Designed for children aged 3 to 12 years and conforms to French AFSSaPS/ANSM health and safety recommendations referenced in the product literature.
Developed with safety, comfort and easier care in mind, the Pitchoune Kalin combines a compact 160 x 80 cm non-divisible bed platform with electrically powered adjustment and a low minimum platform height of just 300 mm. This makes it suitable for home care and professional care environments where safe access, positioning and transfers are important.
The bed is recommended for children under 146 cm in height and incorporates safety-focused side rail dimensions intended to minimise hazardous gaps around the bed platform.
This bundle deal comes complete with an Alova pressure relieving mattress with a non slip base and waterproof cover, set of Wooden / Epoxy full length side rails & a patient lifting pole.
Low 300 mm Platform Height
A major feature of the Pitchoune Kalin is its low minimum bed platform height.
The mattress platform can be lowered to 300 mm, helping make getting out of bed and bed-to-chair transfers easier. It can then be electrically raised to a maximum height of 770 mm, allowing carers to position the bed at a more practical working height when providing assistance.
Three Electric Functions

The bed includes an electric backrest and powered height adjustment, while the leg section incorporates knee-break adjustment using manual cranks.
The manufacturer specifies a maximum backrest angle of approximately 70°, with the thigh section adjustable to approximately 40.3° and an additional manual adjustment of approximately 14.5°.
Safety-Focused Side Rail Design
The Pitchoune Kalin has been designed with particular attention to entrapment risks.
The spacing between the side rails, or between two structural components, is specified as 65 mm or less. The space between the bed platform and the bottom of the side rail is also specified as no greater than 65 mm.
