What is the M-100?

The Marsden M-100 is a premium-quality Class III Approved column scale with automatic height measure, which means weight, height and BMI can all be measured instantly. The scale has a capacity of 300kg, accuracy as low as 50g (making it suitable for weighing children) and an extra wide base. Its unique ‘corner’ design means it can fit into the corner of a room, saving space.

How can I calculate BMI?

The M-100 can be used to automatically calculate a person’s BMI. Simply allow the patient to stand on the scale, raise the height measure to the correct height, and weight, height and BMI will all instantly appear on the screen, speeding up the weighing process.

BMI is probably the most common way to assess whether a person is overweight or not. It is calculated by dividing a person’s weight in kilograms by the square of their height in metres. What is a Class III Approved scale?

Class III Approved scales are built, tested, verified and calibrated in order to meet specific standards. If a scale is used ‘in the determination of mass in the practice of medicine for the purpose of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment’ it must be Class III Approved.
