What is the DS-502?

The Digi DS-502 is an IP65 rated splashproof swab and organ weighing scale with stainless steel pan. It is Class III Approved for medical use. It is designed for daily use in hospitals and theatres.

What is a Class III Approved scale?

Class III Approved scales are built, tested, verified and calibrated to meet a specific standard. The Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments (NAWI) directive determines these standards, and states that all scales ‘used in the determination of mass in the practice of medicine patients for the purpose of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment’ must be Class III Approved. An EU Notified Body rigorously tests Approved scales. In turn, this provides the user with assurance that the scales are accurate, reliable and deliver repeatability.
