FAQs
What is the M-620?
The Marsden M-620 is a high precision, Class III Approved wheelchair scale. It has a large weighing platform to accommodate almost every wheelchair and a gentle incline on the ramps for ease of use. The ramp folds in and the platform folds up and onto a trolley so that the M-620 can be easily and safely transported, as well as providing a compact unit for easy storage.
How can you weigh someone in a wheelchair?
Choosing the best way to weigh someone in a wheelchair depends on your needs and location. With a wheelchair scale the patient can remain in the comfort of their own wheelchair. This method also saves time as the patient doesn’t need to be transferred to a chair scale. All the user needs to do is use Preset Tare/Tare to remove the weight of the wheelchair, leaving an accurate weight reading of the patient on the scale’s display. The M-620 is large enough to accommodate almost every wheelchair. For easy transport the ramps and the platform fold into a trolley.
What is a Class III Approved scale?
Scales that are Class III Approved are built, tested, verified and calibrated in order to meet certain standards. According to the NAWI directive, a scale ‘used in the determination of mass in the practice of medicine for the purpose of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment’ must be Class III Approved. To give the user assurance of accuracy and reliability, an EU notified body will rigorously test these scales.
